Swushi Co ("we," "our," or "us") built the Tsuba app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use Tsuba.
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, username, email address, date of birth, heritage background, interests, bio, profile photo, and preferences. We also collect content you create on the platform, including posts, comments, and messages.
We use information to provide and improve Tsuba, personalize your experience, match you with relevant members and content, send account-related notifications, enforce our rules, prevent fraud and abuse, process subscriptions and eligible in-app purchases, diagnose crashes, and understand high-level app usage when analytics are enabled.
Your data is stored using Google Firebase, which provides encryption in transit and at rest. We store data on servers located in the United States. By using Tsuba, you understand that your data will be processed in the United States.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that operate and protect Tsuba, including Firebase for authentication and storage, RevenueCat for subscription management, Sentry for crash diagnostics, PostHog for product analytics if enabled, Better Stack for uptime monitoring, and Google Mobile Ads when advertising is enabled for eligible free accounts. Tsuba currently requests non-personalized ads and uses Google’s consent flow where required. Advertising availability and choices may vary by region and device settings.
Tsuba does not put message bodies, private photos, passwords, payment-card numbers, or exact location into its own analytics events. Crash/error diagnostics help find and fix app problems. If Google Mobile Ads is enabled, its SDK may process device, consent, and advertising-related signals under Google’s policies to request and measure ads. Tsuba currently requests non-personalized ads. Some optional features let you choose to watch a rewarded video in exchange for an in-app benefit, such as resting in Tsuba RPG or unlocking Unhinged Mode; watching is always your choice and declining never removes access you already paid for. Analytics and advertising processing can be disabled or limited where required by law, consent choices, device settings, or platform policy.
Some optional profile fields are sensitive. If you choose to enter an STD or sexual-health status, that entry is health-related information and is treated as sensitive. It is optional, it is never required to use Tsuba, and you control who can see it through your own visibility setting: keep it private, share it only with mutual matches, or show it on your profile. It is never copied into the broadly readable member card, and it is never used for advertising or analytics. You can clear it at any time in Edit Profile. Body details such as height and weight follow the same visibility control. If you are in a region whose law treats health data as a special category, you provide this information on the basis of your explicit consent, and withdrawing it is as simple as clearing the field.
Discreet matching lets you appear in matching results with compatibility information only, without your name, photo, region, or bio. Identity is revealed to another member only when both of you have asked to reveal, and either of you can withdraw at any time, which hides you again immediately. Consent records for discreet matching store only the two member identifiers and whether each side has agreed.
Members can rate people they have actually spoken with, and a rating requires a written reason. Those ratings, the written reasons, and reports such as ghosting are stored and used to calculate a member star rating and to enforce community rules, which can restrict where a member may post. Ratings are not shown to the person rated together with the identity of who wrote them. Moderators and administrators can review ratings and reasons for safety and appeals. Do not include other people's private information in a rating reason.
Tsuba may request access to your device location to show nearby community members. Location access is optional and can be disabled in your privacy settings or device settings. We do not permanently store precise location data.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request deletion, opt out of certain processing, or withdraw consent. To make a request, contact contact@swushi.net.
We retain data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate Tsuba. When you delete your account, we delete personal data under our deletion process within 30 days, except where retention is required or permitted by law, needed for security, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping.
Tsuba is intended only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to use Tsuba. If we discover that a minor created an account, we will suspend and delete it under our safety and deletion procedures.
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify users of material changes through the app or another appropriate channel and update the revision date below.
